Why Tammy Abraham Is Frank Lampard's First Choice Striker At Chelsea.

Tammy Abraham has won the heart of former Chelsea and England player and currently, Chelsea coach- Frank Lampard. Despite of his fondness of playing youngsters in his team first team during his time in Derby County, he knows young players can deliver when required to.

Most football coaches prefer young players e.g Pep Guardiola who sold most of the old first team players immediately when he landed Manchester City. Here are the reasons why Tammy Abraham is a regular starter under Lampard:

1. He is a goal-scoring machine.

 In his starts this season, Abraham has netted 11 goals in the Premier League. This is a good performance and he is only 22 years old. The only player to better him in the Premier League scoring chart is Leicester City's Jamie Vardy with 16 goals. Abraham's averages 3.2 shots per match and at least one of those chances is converted to a goal.

2. Perfect target-man.

Tammy Abraham wins an average of 3.1 areal duels per match and does not lose possession easily. His biggest strength is. Despite his small physique, he is strong when in front of the defender. A perfect target-man is the one who the coach has belief in when he is in possession and knows exactly what to do with the ball (whether to shoot or release the ball).


 3. Tammy Abraham blends well with Lampard's tactics.

Frank Lampard has ought to continue with what Maurizio Sarri started. Sarri introduced the 'Sarriball' tactic which involves quick passes in small triangles and finding the third man in the play. Lampard uses the same tactic and Tammy Abrahams is a key player on this tactic because he links up well with his team-mates.

4. Has a strong finishing through-balls.

Unlike his fellow strikers, Olivier Giroud and Mitchy Batshuayi, Tammy Abraham's has strong power when it comes to finishing through-balls. This has made him earn his place in Frank Lampard's team because Chelsea always play through-balls behind the defensive line for the striker to make late runs in the final third.

Tammy Abraham has scored 11 EPL goals already this season. On top of that, he has earned a place in Gareth Southgate's England squard. He just needs to sharpen his finishing power and try to be more clinical in front of the goal to be among the Europe's top strikers.

Catenaccio involves a defensive play, tight marking of opponents and aggressive fouling. Mostly, this tactic was used to defend goal margins.
