Can Manchester United End Liverpool's EPL Unbeaten Run?

It is the only big match this weekend when Liverpool who sit 14 points clear on top of the table will welcome Manchester United who are 5th on the table. Up to date, Liverpool have the 3rd longest EPL unbeaten runs after Arsene Wengers Invincibles and Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

Manchester United is the toughest side Jurgen Klopp has played against in the competition. Jurgen Klopp won once in his last 11 matches versus the red side of Manchester.

The hosts are expecting Joel Matip and Fabinho to start from the bench. Dejan Lovren, Nabby Keita, James Milner and Nathaniel Clyne are the long absentees in the Red's squard. However, we should expect the squard that faced Totenham last weekend.

Possible line-up:
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez,Van Dijk, Robertson, Chamberlain, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Ole Gunnar's men will miss the midfield duo, Pogba and McTominay, L.Shaw, E. Baily and Fosu-Mensah. Red Devil's top scorer this season, Marcus Rashford got a back injury in the Wolverhampton FA clash. He might be featured on this big game.

Possible Line-up:

De Gea, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams, Fred, Matic, Mata, Perreira,Daniel James, Martial.

The last time Liverpool won a match is after Xherdan Shaqiri's brace when he came from the bench and became the man of the match.
The last time Liverpool hosted Man United while at the top of the table is in 1990 and Liverpool comfortably won 4-0.

Facing Man United is not an easy task as the Red Devils are unbeaten against all the top 6 giants. The last time these two sides met, the result was a 1-1 draw. Manchester United had beaten the Reds and threw their win 5 minutes to the final whistle.

What to expect on this match:

1. Manchester United will hit Liverpool on transitions.

Manchester United is one of the best teams in the league when it comes to counter-attacks. Having Daniel James, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial, they are a threat to a high defensive line. Liverpool like to play with a high defensive line so on this game they should watch out.

2. Man United Would Counter-press Liverpool.

The Red Devils are among the most dangerous teams when it comes to counter-pressing and winning possession as they attack. When a team has fast-paced fowards, they can press the opponent and launch an attack there and then. The presence of Andreas Perreira in Manchester United would cause problems to Liverpool's midfield and defence. Andreas has a sharp vision and ability to find spaces in the defensive structure.

3. Liverpool would dominate this game.

Just like the Tottenham's match, Liverpool would dominate this match and try to create chances. A lot of crosses would be seen from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson. Due to this, Manchester may be forced to make numerous interceptions in their own third.

4. Liverpool will press Man United high on the pitch.

Jurgen Klopp's men always like pressing their opponents high on the pitch. To overcome this, the opponents should be good with the ball to escape from the press.

CONCLUSION:

Despite of Liverpool being the clear favourites to win this match, it won't be easy for them because Manchester United are soup spoilers and the dirty boys messing with smart boys. This game will be determined on the pitch and Liverpool should be warned. Manchester United have a good conversion rate unlike Tottenham. Liverpool might end up being embarrassed at home.
